Fateme Gosheh

Born in Iran, studied photography and film at the Institute for Culture and Art (Farhang and Hons), Cinema Azad in Lorestan, Iran. She has also studied art in Iran. Her documentary film “The integration of veil” has been featured at many film festivals, including the Göteborg Film Festival and the New York Film Festival. Her art exhibition “A Muslim Woman – Dreams and Nightmares” was shown at the Liljevalchs konsthall in 2002 and attracted much attention in the media with paintings that pictures women in a fundamentalist society. The art gallery and the artist were reported to the police. This caused a major discussion of the situation of women in the Islamic world. The documentary film “Dance below white sheets” is about her artistry. Her art has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, etc.
